Plagiarism policy
Alberoni University Internal Journal maintains a strict policy against plagiarism to uphold academic integrity and the credibility of published research. All manuscripts submitted to AUIJ are screened using plagiarism detection software Turnitin TM. Any paper showing substantial similarity to previously published work without proper citation will be rejected. Minor overlap must be properly quoted and cited. If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article may be retracted and a notice will be issued.
We allow a maximum similarity index of 15%, excluding:
-
References and bibliographies
-
Properly cited quotations
-
Standard phrases, technical expressions, and formulaic language
Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author for revision or may be rejected outright based on the severity of overlap.
Similarity Index Guide
The table below outlines how different similarity levels are interpreted during the review process:
| Similarity Range | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| 0–10% | Excellent. Manuscript is considered highly original with minimal overlap. |
| 10–15% | Acceptable. Some similarity may stem from references or standard expressions. |
| 15–20% | Caution. Authors may be asked to rephrase or improve citation clarity. |
| 20–30% | Problematic. Major revision required. Likely repetition or improper citation. |
| Above 30% | Unacceptable. Manuscript likely contains significant plagiarism and will be rejected. |
Ethical Note:
-
Authors must clearly cite all borrowed ideas, text, or data.
-
Self-plagiarism (reusing parts of previous work without citation) is also not allowed.
-
The editorial board reserves the right to revise this policy based on evolving international best practices in academic publishing.
